How Solar Works

At Captain Solar we have faith in the power of the sun, and we want all Australians to feel the same, which starts with understanding. Here is a simplified version of how solar energy works and why you should take advantage of it.
 

1. Photovoltaic (PV) modules generate DC power from the sun.

2. Inverter – converts DC power into 240V (AC) power for use by standard appliances and grid connection.

3. The building uses the solar electricity generated, any excess power is fed back into the grid.

4. Bi-directional meter – measures electricity produced and consumed.
